Matt's Bio
Inspired by his uncle’s suggestion to listen to guitar legend Jimi Hendrix, Matt picked up the guitar in elementary school and hasn’t put it down since! Voted "best musician" in high school it was only natural that Matt went on to earn a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Performance from Temple University in 2004.

Since that time Matt has mastered the guitar techniques/stylings of: Jimi Hendrix, Steve Ray Vaughn, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and contemporary jazz/fusion guitarists David Fiuczynski, John Scofield, and Charlie Hunter. He has been teaching various styles of guitar for the last three years and is currently involved in a Philadelphia area urban rock project as well as a progressive jazz/rock instrumental power trio. In addition, Matt works to help others improve their basic musical creations through composing and arranging consultation. His studio projects include: "Tela" (Tela-2002), "Geoffrey" (Apparatus 2004), "Animal" (SHE-2006), and his current project-- "Edge of Disaster" (Apparatus 2008).

Matt’s ability to gently suggest improvements yet support others’ creative processes has been consistently complimented by college faculty, students, and colleagues alike. He is considerate and reliable and thoroughly enjoys helping his students improve their own playing and understanding of music.
